Physical Education

DPS’s Physical Education is a thoughtfully crafted program promoting physical activity, fostering a healthy lifestyle, and positively impacting academic performance through effective design and implementation.

  • Children under 5 should not be inactive for long periods, except when they’re asleep.
  • Watching TV, travelling by car, bus or train, or being strapped into a place for long periods is not good for a child’s health and development.
  • There’s growing evidence that such behavior can increase their risk of poor health.

At least 60mins of Physical activity is recommended for Children.

Examples of energetic activities suitable for most children who can walk on their own include:

> Active play (such as hide and seek)

> Running around

> Jumping on a trampoline

> Dancing

> Aerobics

> Climbing

> Skipping rope

> Gymnastics

> Reduce non-active time (TV, mobile, computer/laptop) and solitary play (playing alone).

> Encourage safe walking or Bicycling.

> Make Physical Activity part of the family’s routine.

> Ensure that activity is age appropriate and provide protective equipment such as helmets, wrist pads, knee pads.
